This Old House
(today’s post: 191 words)
This post is a little late because last night but we lost our cable connection. (That means we also lost our internet connection since we have a cable modem.) Then this morning we woke up and it looks like we’ve lost our water, too (it’s below zero Fahrenheit, even now at noon). The place is falling down around us.
So instead of what I was going to post about, I’ll instead ask, “How can the water freeze in this place every year? Doesn’t there come a point where they figure that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? And how come every year the people who come to fix things tell us that the people who fixed it last year were incompetent?” You don’t have to answer these questions. I think I already know the answer.
Update #1: Well, we have a fail. These guys couldn’t get the water running so they’re going to try again tomorrow.
Update #2: We have water, folks. Hot and cold. Flushing toilets. And actual honest-to-goodness insulation on the pipes. I’m so happy I could eat some turkey and mashed potatoes (Thanksgiving? Get it? Eh?).
