President Obama’s Q&A on Health Care

June 30, 2009 By: bobisimo Category: All Posts, Religion Politics & Morality

After yesterday’s epic 10,000 words of posting, I’m going to try to work the average back to a manageable level.

About a week ago, President Obama took the stage to talk about health care. Prior to this, people had questions and I thought a Q&A sessions was a great idea. After the session was over, I took to the web and waited to see the response. And waited.

When nothing popped up, I thought maybe the topic was too big for a quick response so I checked back the next day. But there was still nothing. Were people so content with Obama’s answers that there were no questions or disagreements at all? Was there not enough meat for people to chew on?

Actually, it sounds like no one was watching. I find it had to believe that a topic as important as health care, a topic which people profess to care about (whether they support this reform, that reform, or no reform), drew a viewership at one affiliate of less than 80,000 viewers compared with a same-time showing of a CSI: NY re-run that more than doubled that viewership. But I’m guessing that’s the reality. And I’m guessing that’s why no one wrote anything about it.

Hopefully, apathy in regard to the presidential Q&A session doesn’t correlate with results come decision time.

And with that, I’m off to enjoy my one of my two new games (Bully: Scholarship Edition) while wearing my new tee shirt (Candice bought me a Hunter S Thompson shirt!) and enjoying the full belly from Lisa’s BBQ.

They keep sending out updates on Facebook asking for people to post pics of themselves wearing shirts from the site ;-)
