More Ghostland…

Tonight I saw Ghostland Observatory for the third time! There aren’t a whole ton of bands I’ve seen three times or more but I’m proud to have Ghostland in that short list. As usual, they rocked. Unlike usual, the DJ opener wasn’t half-bad. I won’t dwell on the show since I’ve already written up a review but there are a few items worth mentioning.
For one, there was a ton of smoke tonight. It started about an hour before the show and kept going throughout. I didn’t mind it at all, but it was significant. Going along with the smoke, there was a super-intense (this was a fail-safe epilepsy test) strobe-light-and-multi-colored-laser show and an LED curtain behind the act. It was pretty amazing, albeit, as Candice pointed out, disjointed.
For another, Aaron danced quite a bit less. That was disappointing; hopefully it was just an off night for him.
Also, for the Obama fans, Aaron made a brief reference as to the history of the week and the crowd went nuts. For comparison’s sake, when Ghostland returned for their encore, it was super loud for about 10 seconds. When he made his comment, it was about as loud but it was sustained for maybe 30 seconds.
Finally, we stopped at Clarke’s after the show and I ordered some baked-apple pancakes. What I received was more pie-like than pancake, but it was yummy just the same.
