Sammy Millson has left the building…

March 14, 2007 By: bobisimo Category: All Posts, Catching Up

Is it spring? I think it might be! The temperature has routinely (albeit just barely) hovered above 0 (or not fallen too far below 0) for about 8 days now.

It also might be spring if the following minor changes, all prompted int he last 8 days or so, mean anything:

  • I started going to the gym again (running on the treadmill).
  • I went to the doctor for a physical, complete with testicle fondling (mine, not his).
  • I had my blood and urine tested today.
  • I’ve been eating smaller portions and drinking more water, maintaining a weight of 168-172.
  • I’ve been eating more healthy foods - i.e. whole wheat pasta with broccoli, fruit, etc. - and less junk food.
  • I’ve been sleeping more. Not a lot more, but enough that I wake up a lot easier.

All of the above reasons seem to have that health connection going on, and my theory is that everyone wants to be active for the summer - so starting the process must mean spring. Of course, then there are the items that don’t point at spring. Rather, they just point at me changing for no explicable reason.

  • I’ve been watching a lot more movies than I had been. Tideland was fantastic, and definitely one I would heartily recommend. Science of Sleep was good. Rented Titus and Tale of Two Sisters. And I’m going back to see 300 again at the IMAX. (Thanks, BioWare! :p)
  • I’ve been playing more video games. Well, more of one, anyway: X-Men 2.
  • I haven’t had a coffee in a week. I’m still enjoying (smaller doses of) caffeine, it’s just been that maybe one tea or diet Pepsi per day has been enough.
  • What about you? Anything changing in your life? Anything that might predict at 6 weeks less of winter?

PS My birthday has, apparently, now become an approximation of success. :p

Tell that bastard Millson I want my fries back. And he’d better stop filling their heads with lies to make them hate you. I can’t stand that fuckin’ pothead.

hey, that Titus you saw, was it the one w/ Anthony Hopkins? if so, i simply ~adore~ that film. i don’t get the love films and theatre so much as i do the ones w/ the absolute need for horrible, human-eating revenge.

Yup! That’s the one. I haven’t finished watching it, though! I only got through act one (the scene with the twigs, eep!). I started it late one night and then ended up getting distracted by a big conversation… :) I plan to start it over and watch it through this weekend. Maybe tonight? :)
All in all, though, I’m really into Shakespeare. I took a Shakespeare course for a year at Uni, and also did a year of British Lit where we covered him a little more generally. I’ve got the big books of plays and poems, and have probably read a fairly significant number. :D I don’t know how I never saw Titus, especially with everyone telling me it’s his bloodiest one. :D

    Happy Green Beer Day!
Too bad your urine wasn’t tested tomorrow… :p
